The Hilton Hotels Prize Main Flying Task – Minimum distance 2km, Grid Reference adding up to 31, tie-break on the most Easterly landing. The Newbury Building Society Shield (Keep for 1 year). Plus a Weekend Break for 2 people in a Hilton Hotel Richard Parry in G-CHEL, for the second year running. Landed at Manor Farm, Pewsey. Three others also recorded 31, Vic Trimble, Trevor Read and Colin Butter.
Gemini Trophy Oldest balloon to fly out of the Field. Wooden Balloon Trophy (Keep for 1 year). Plus small hand carved wooden balloon to keep. Plus a Lindstrand Sweatshirt. 1st G-BFFT Red Leader, reg. 7/11/77, Pilot Ian Kerr2nd G-LIFE ex-Schroeder, reg. 11/1/78, Pilot David Hopkins

Aim High Trophy Smartest balloon, including tethered only. Trophy (Keep for 1 year)Plus: Bottle of Champagne 1st G-BMDJ, one of only two Price balloons made. Pilot Richard Benham.2nd would have been G-GPEG, but the balloon was not registered at the meet.

39th would have been G-BRHC, Green Dragon, looking very tired, but the balloon was not registered at the meet.

Chequers Trophy Longest Flight from Icicle. Trophy (Keep for 1 year)Plus: Bottle of Champagne and ballooning calendar. 1st Vic Trimble in G-OMMM, near Trowbridge, distance of 35.5 km.2nd Ken Chapple in G-BYBS, landed in Urchfont, distance 23.0 km.

3rd Colin Butter in G-DRYS, landed SW of Pewsey, distance 18.4 km.

Other Minor Prizes For allowing us to use Warren Farm once again as the venue for the meet. Bottle of whisky James Liddiard, with special thanks for freezing the field down to Minus 6 degrees Centigrade on Sunday morning, so that 39 balloons could get into the field and fly.
