The Hilton Hotels Prize Main Flying Task – Grid Reference adding up to 35, minimum distance 4 km, tie-break on the most (Southerly) landing. The Newbury Building Society Shield (Keep for 1 year). Plus a Weekend Break for 2 people in the Swindon Hilton Hotel Nobody scored 35, but closest was Gary Davies, G-BULB, with 33.
Gemini Trophy Oldest balloon to fly out of the Field. Wooden Balloon Trophy (Keep for 1 year). Plus small hand carved wooden balloon to keep. Plus: Bottle of Leffe beer, and a Kubicek shirt.. Richard Parry, G-SMIG San Miguel, built in June 1983, flew 3 km and landed just North of the A4 by the Palm Restaurant
Pete Hornfeck Trophy Smartest balloon, including tethered only. Trophy (Keep for 1 year)Plus: Bottle of Champagne Austin Heginbottom with G-WDEB.
Chequers Trophy Longest Flight from Icicle. Trophy (Keep for 1 year)Plus: Pair of Kubicek flying gloves Gary Davies, flew 12 km, landing near Ragnal. Trophy only.2. Jonathan Smith, flew 11 km, landing near Straight Soley. He received the gloves.
Norman Betts Award Newest Pilot at Icicle Norman Betts Shield (Keep for 1 year)Plus: Cameron Flight Bag Austin Heginbottom, G-WDEB, did his checkout on 19 th Dec 2006.
Marsh Benham Trophy For Services to ballooning in the Newbury area. Silver RosebowlPlus: Bottle of champagne Celia Kunert, for her work in organising so many aspects of the Icicle Meet.
