The Elcot Park Hotel Prize Main Flying Task. 6-figure Grid Reference adding up to 40, minimum distance 4 km, tie-break on the most easterly/westerly/northerly/southerly landing. The Newbury Building Society Shield (Keep for 1 year). Plus a meal for 2 people in the Elcot Park Hotel, and a bottle of Ruby Port. Richard Parry in G-CHEL. Gemini Trophy Oldest balloon to fly out of the Field. Wooden Balloon Trophy (Keep for 1 year). Plus small hand carved wooden balloon to keep. Plus Bottle of champagne Piers Glydon with G-LDYS from 1981.Runner up was Richard Parry in G-SMIG (1983), who hopped out of the Flying Field into the Car Park field on Saturday morning

Vic Trimble Trophy Longest Flight from Icicle. Trophy (Keep for 1 year)Plus: Bottle of Champagne Mark Shemilt and Mike Scholes in G-BWDH. They flew 51 miles (81.6kms)in 3½ hours, landing at West Dean College, near Goodwood, just North of Chichester. MR 862122

Marsh Benham Trophy For Services to ballooning in the Newbury area. Silver Rosebowl, plus a waistcoat Awarded to John Green, who used to fly the Gemini balloon. John made the original Gemini Trophy, a large balloon carved from wood, and every year since it has been awarded, probably 35 years, he has also made a small wooden balloon for the winner of that year to keep. He also does repairs to our other trophies as required.
Other Minor Prizes For allowing us to use Warren Farm once again as the venue for the meet.
